Hair Care Guide

1 Washing (2–3× per week)

Why: Raw Thai hair doesn't need daily washing; overwashing causes dryness.

  • Use a sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo
  • Focus shampoo on the scalp only
  • Let the suds rinse through the lengths naturally

Good ingredients:

Aloe vera, argan oil, coconut oil, rice water, glycerin

Avoid:

Harsh sulfates, frequent clarifying shampoos

2 Conditioning (Every wash)

Raw Thai hair loves moisture.

  • Use a rich conditioner
  • Apply mid-lengths to ends only
  • Leave on 3–5 minutes
  • Detangle gently with fingers or a wide-tooth comb

3 Deep Conditioning (1× weekly)

This keeps the hair soft and prevents stiffness.

  • Use a deep moisture mask (not heavy protein every week)
  • Leave on 15–30 minutes
  • Use heat (warm towel or shower steam) for better absorption

Tip:

Too much protein can make raw hair feel hard—balance moisture > protein.

4 Leave-In & Sealing (Very important)

After washing:

  • Apply a light leave-in conditioner
  • Seal with a few drops of oil

Best oils for raw Thai hair:

• Argan oil (light, shiny)
• Jojoba oil (balances moisture)
• Coconut oil (use sparingly if hair gets stiff)

5 Heat Styling (Limit it)

Raw Thai hair handles heat better than processed hair, but still:

  • Always use a heat protectant
  • Keep tools below 180–190°C (350–375°F)
  • Avoid daily flat-ironing

6 Night Care

This prevents breakage and dryness.

  • Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase
  • Or wrap hair in a silk/satin scarf
  • Lightly oil ends before bed if needed

7 Trimming (Every 8–12 weeks)

Even raw hair needs trims to prevent split ends from traveling up the shaft.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Too much protein
  • Heavy grease/butter buildup
  • Overwashing
  • Dry brushing
